Smoked cocktails have become quite popular, and in the interest of staying just behind the trend I decided to make some. The design is evolving as I figure out how best to make them fit together and seal against the glass. I think I'm getting it figured out.

These are the first iteration of my whiskey smoker design, made of spalted maple with a hickory insert. They work just as well as later designs, with the only changes being how the smoking basket fits in the insert and the fit of the cap on top of the smoker.
A great gift for the whiskey connoisseur in your life.

I plan to make smokers out of several kinds of exotic hardwoods. The pieces pictured below are Padauk with a hexagon maple insert in the cap, and there will be Purple heart and Zebra wood coming soon. All of the inserts (the area that holds the wood chips and is exposed to flame) are solid hickory, and all smokers are finished with food safe oil.
